Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • Dr. Erika Schoeman and Dr. Sneha Shah are currently accepting new patients. We would be delighted to welcome you to Elegance Dental. Our welcoming receptionists are ready to help you with the registration process.

  • We understand that dental care can be an unforeseen expense, so we offer flexible financing options to make it easier. Choose from 0% APR financing for 12 months or interest-bearing plans ranging from 24 to 60 months. Additionally, we provide various Dental Plans for routine dental check-ups, allowing you to manage costs with a low monthly fee.

  • Regular dental check-ups are important for early detection of oral health issues, which makes treatment usually simpler and more cost-effective. They are also essential for preventing many oral problems and can help identify signs of certain diseases and medical conditions that may appear in the mouth.

  • During a dental health exam or dental check-ups, we perform a soft tissue evaluation, including an oral cancer screening, assess your teeth and gums, and, if necessary, take digital radiographs, intraoral photographs, and a digital scan. We will then discuss our findings with you and create a personalised treatment plan.

  • We suggest booking a dental health exam or dental check-ups with our team, as sensitivity can be an early sign of gum disease. During the exam, we'll assess your gums, check for inflammation, evaluate gum recession, and measure periodontal pocket depths. Additionally, a hygiene visit will help keep your smile in top condition.

  • Flossing is essential because it cleans the tight spaces between your teeth that a toothbrush can't reach. Food particles and debris can become trapped in these areas, leading to plaque buildup. If plaque is not removed, it hardens and becomes difficult to get rid of. Over time, the bacteria in plaque can damage your teeth and gums, resulting in tooth decay and gum disease. Daily flossing helps remove these particles, reduces plaque buildup, and promotes better oral health. Flossing should be done in addition to brushing, not as a replacement.

It’s recommended to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once daily. Flossing before bed is particularly important as it helps lower the risk of dental issues caused by plaque buildup. After any dental treatment, such as veneers or implants, maintaining good oral hygiene, including daily flossing, is crucial.

  • We offer a range of smile treatments designed to improve your teeth and enhance your smile. Common issues like crooked or misaligned teeth can often develop over time. Using advanced technology, such as the iTero Lumina Digital Scanner, we provide effective solutions like Invisalign or fixed braces to straighten your teeth with minimal invasiveness.

We also offer veneers, composite bonding, and teeth whitening to achieve exceptional results. Composite bonding is perfect for repairing chipped or damaged teeth by filling gaps and creating a natural look. Veneers cover the entire tooth, masking discoloration and providing a whiter appearance, though some tooth preparation is needed for a proper fit.

For gaps or missing teeth, dental implants can restore your smile completely.
